Midterm Review: Reviewer Insights & Lisbon Sights

On June 2nd, the Midterm Review Meeting for Buddy4All took place in sunny Lisbon. The goal of this review meeting was to look back on the results and deliverables from the first half of the project and receive advice from subject matter and industry experts for the second half of the project.

Preparations

In preparation of the meetings, all deliverable documents along with answers to summarizing questions had to be handed in for the reviewers.

The consortium team arrived one day earlier in Lisbon, to prepare for the meeting. The presentation was rehearsed and the location-based game set up and tested in a nearby park.

Review Meeting

On the day of the meeting, the two expert reviewers and three coordinators from AAL and the other funding organizations arrived and were greeted by the consortium members. The meeting started with a presentation of the results achieved so far. Then, there was the opportunity for the experts and coordinators to test the prototypes themselves.

The experts were impressed with the level of user involvement in developing the prototypes. On the other hand, they encouraged the consortium to focus more on the development of a viable business plan.

Overall the different feedbacks from the reviewers were very constructive and good discussions took place, which will help guide the consortium team in the second half of the project.

Impressions & Acknowledgements

Thank you to the experts for their valuable feedbacks, to AAL and the national funding organisations for supporting this project, and to KRESK for organizing the logistics of this review meeting!
